“A way out of the shortage of skilled workers in the machinery metal industry” was the subject and focus of conversation during the 4th chamber of commerce meeting in the city of Schwerin, Germany, Dr. Seeleman, a representative of the city of Kiels professional promotion services, made the suggestion to integrate professional soldiers seeking to crossover back into a normal working life after their service in the German army. The president of G&G Extrusion technologies, Mr. Hans Graf reported about his own positive experiences hiring ex-soldiers and also described this as being a opportunity for his company to develop skilled workers for the future. Mr. Hans Juergen Bruhn, deputy director of the chamber of commerce training center, suggested to use the training center to develop a educational network for potential skilled workers in the machinery, metal industry as a “vocational and educational cooperative”.
